Miami has no shortage of things to do. You can spend the day on the beach, eat your way through Little Havana, or catch a game downtown. But if your group has already checked off the usual list, or you want a day out that people will still be talking about next week, a group shooting experience is worth a look.
At Miami Guns & Range in Hialeah, we see all kinds of groups come through the door. Friends visiting from out of state. Couples on date night. Coworkers who want a team outing that isn’t another happy hour. Birthday crews. A lot of them have never fired a gun before. That’s completely fine, and honestly, it’s half the fun.
Why a Shooting Range Works So Well for Groups
There’s something about learning a new skill together that brings people closer. Everyone starts at the same level, everyone gets a turn, and once the targets come back, a little friendly competition always kicks in. It’s hands-on, it takes focus, and it’s a nice break from staring at your phone.
It’s also one of the few things to do in Miami that doesn’t depend on the weather. Our range is indoors and air-conditioned, so an afternoon thunderstorm or a 95-degree day won’t wreck your plans.

You Don’t Need Experience (or Your Own Gun)
The question we hear most from first-timers is whether they need to bring anything. The short answer is no.
We rent handguns and long guns right at the counter, and we have instructors on site to walk new shooters through the basics before anyone steps up to a lane. They’ll show you how to hold the firearm, how to load it, how to stand, and the safety rules everyone follows on the line. Nobody gets thrown in the deep end.
If your group mixes experienced shooters with nervous beginners, that works too. The regulars can shoot at their own pace while the newcomers get the help they need.
Range Packages Built for Groups
Paying for every lane, rental, and box of ammo separately gets confusing fast, especially when you’re splitting the bill four ways. That’s why we put together a few simple range packages:
- 2 Person Shooting Range Package ($99): One hour of range time, one .22LR gun rental, two targets, and a 50-round box of .22LR ammo. A great pick for date night or a quick outing with a friend.
- 2-4 Person Shooting Range Package ($139): One hour of range time, two .22LR rentals, four targets, and 100 rounds of .22LR. This is the sweet spot for small groups.
- AR Rifle Package for 2 People ($179): An AR-15 rental, 20 rounds of ammo, and two targets, with a range officer present for your session. If someone in your group has always wanted to try a rifle, this is a safe, guided way to do it.
The .22LR is a smart starting point for beginners. It has very little recoil and it’s much quieter than bigger calibers, so new shooters can focus on the basics instead of flinching. Want to try something with more kick? Upgrades are available. Just ask at the counter.
All packages can be purchased online and must be used within 180 days, which also makes them an easy gift for birthdays or the holidays.
What to Know Before You Go
A little planning makes the day go smoother:
- Age: Shooters must be 21 or older, or accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- What to wear: Comfortable clothes that let you raise your arms and move your shoulders freely. Closed-toe shoes are a good idea too, since spent casings can fly.
- Eye and ear protection: You’ll need both on the range. If you don’t have your own, we have them for $10.
- Walk-in pricing: Not doing a package? Range time is $20 per person per hour, handgun rentals are $25, and long gun rentals are $35.
- Hours: Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
We also offer a discount for military and law enforcement, so bring your ID if that applies to you.
When One Visit Turns Into a Hobby
Plenty of people who come in for a one-time group outing end up hooked. If that happens to you, a good next step is our Handgun Shooting and Safety Course. It’s a hands-on class taught on the range by a certified range officer, built for people who want to get comfortable and confident with a handgun. And if you find yourself coming back every week, a range membership can save you money over time.
